As a way to help attendees prepare there were five vendors set up at the seminar; Weather Protections Systems, Rhino Demolition, State Farm Agent John Griggs, Santee Cooper and SC Insurance News Service.
The presenters Ed Piotrowski, AMS Chief Meteorologist for WPDE News Channel 15 and Randy Webster, Director of Emergency Management for Horry County are two very knowledgeable and recognized experts. Each presented information, and then took questions from the audience of over 115 people.

“A typical storm season has ten named storms, of which six will turn into hurricanes,” said Ed Piotrowski.
“The Grand Strand area has been fortunate the last few years, as we have not had a direct hit."
"But we must remember to always be ready; preparation for hurricanes is the best way to protect you and your family from Mother Nature’s wrath.”
